RELATIONSHIP
ADVICE 101
"Relationship
Advice 101 is a simple and basic approach to finding
the perfect relationship for yourself."
- Monte Jamison, Relationship Guide
What
is relationship advice 101?
It is a simple and basic approach to finding the perfect
relationship for yourself. I am a big believer that
the simple things in life are what need satisfying,
you just have to know how to satisfy them.
The
basics of Relationship Advice 101:
Lesson #1 - Learn to know
yourself. By
this I mean understand who you are, who you are not,
what you like, what you need, what you want, and be
true to the answers you come up with. If you know
who you are, you will know what it will take to make
you happy. Then you can allow someone into your life
that is capable of being the person to make you happy.
Lesson
#2 - Learn to know what you need.
Different people need different
things in a relationship. Some people enjoy being
“lovey dovey” in public. Some cannot stand
public displays of affection. Some need constant conversation.
Some prefer very little conversation. Some need to
be leaders. Others need to be led. Do you see what
I’m getting at here? Once you know what you
need, you can begin to fill those needs.
Lesson
#3 - Learn to know what you do not need.
Huh? Yes, you need
to know what you do not need. If you are a recovering
alcoholic, you do not need a heavy social drinker
in your life. If conservative describes your outlook
on life, you do not need a liberal mate challenging
your every belief all the time. If you find yourself
attracted to violent-types, well, certainly you do
not need to deal with domestic violence.
Lesson
#4 - Learn to know what you like.
Are you a meat and potatoes
person, or is vegan more your style? Do you like quiet
conversation or prefer to be in the middle of a crowd?
Would you consider yourself a “homebody”
or do you love to be out and about ripping and running
the streets? Questions like these need to be answered
in order to achieve a fulfilling relationship. You
need someone who likes at least some of the things
you like.
Lesson
#5 - Learn to know what you do not like.
For example, body hair may totally
turn you on in a primal kind of way where you think
the more, the better. Or body hair may be the most
disgusting thing in the world in your eyes and when
you see someone with a lot of it, it makes you want
to gag. If certain things just outright turn you off,
you need to be clear about them. You cannot have a
successful intimate relationship with a person if
that person possesses traits you do not like.
Again,
these things are very simple, yet very important.
